First Aid Tips

• For any punctures, scratches, or tears to your eye or eyelid, do not wash or touch the eye area. Cover the eye with an eye shield as long as it doesn’t touch the injury. Seek immediate medical attention.
• For minor blows, place a cold compress over your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes. Call a doctor and describe the injury to see if you need medical attention. For more serious blows, seek medical attention immediately.
• For chemical burns, flush the eyes out for 15 to 20 minutes and seek immediate medical attention.
